"We gutted our 1960s kitchen and main bathroom at the same time. BuildRight managed every trade, stayed on schedule, and came in under the original estimate. The kitchen is the centrepiece of our home now. We've recommended them to four neighbours — all four hired them."
— Martha & Jim C.
Kitchen + Bathroom, Fairfield — Google Review
"Built a two-storey addition on our James Bay character home. Matching the existing roofline and siding was critical — they nailed it. You can't tell where the old house ends and the new starts. That's the level of craftsmanship you want."
— David S.
Addition — James Bay
"Basement suite with its own entrance, kitchen, and bathroom. They handled the permit, the engineering, and the whole build. Passed every inspection first time. Now it's rented and covering half our mortgage. Best investment we've made."
— Priya & Nate W.

Renovation projects are bigger than a one-day job. Here's how we keep yours on track, on budget, and stress-free.
We visit your home, discuss your vision, and give you a realistic idea of scope, timeline, and budget.
Drawings, engineering, material selections, and permit applications. Everything approved before demo begins.
Trades scheduled in sequence. Weekly updates. Clean site. Every inspection passed before the next phase.
Paint, trim, hardware, fixtures, and final touches. We don't call it done until every detail meets our standard.
We walk every room with you. Anything that isn't right gets fixed before we hand over the keys. Warranty provided.
I started BuildRight Construction because I'd seen too many renovation horror stories — contractors who disappear mid-job, projects that double in cost, trades pointing fingers at each other. Homeowners deserve better.
Twenty-two years and 400+ projects later, the approach hasn't changed. One point of contact. One detailed contract. One crew that shows up every day and treats your home with respect. We coordinate every trade in-house — plumbing, electrical, HVAC, framing, finishing — so nothing falls through the cracks.
We're not the cheapest contractor in Victoria. We're the one you'll be glad you hired when the project's done and the result exceeds what you imagined.
We take on projects across the Capital Regional District — Victoria, Saanich, Oak Bay, Esquimalt, Langford, Colwood, Metchosin, Sooke, and Sidney. Residential renovations and custom builds.
What Victoria homeowners ask most about renovating.
How long does a kitchen renovation take?
A full kitchen renovation typically takes 6–10 weeks from demo to completion. That includes demolition, plumbing and electrical rough-in, inspections, cabinets, countertops, backsplash, flooring, painting, and fixture installation. We'll give you a detailed timeline before we start.
Do you handle the permits?
Yes — all of them. Building permits, plumbing permits, electrical permits, engineering drawings, and variance applications if needed. We work with the City of Victoria, Saanich, Langford, and other CRD municipalities regularly. You don't deal with any paperwork.
Can I live in my house during the renovation?
For most projects, yes. We set up dust barriers, maintain a clean site, and work in contained areas. For major whole-home renovations, we'll discuss the best approach — some homeowners prefer to stay, others move out temporarily. We'll plan around your needs.
How do you handle budget and pricing?
You get a detailed, line-item contract before any work begins. No allowances, no vague estimates. If something changes during the project (and it sometimes does with older Victoria homes), we discuss it with you and get written approval before proceeding. No surprise invoices.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes. All our work comes with a comprehensive warranty — 2 years on workmanship and applicable manufacturer warranties on materials and fixtures. BC's new home warranty requirements apply to additions and new construction. We'll explain what's covered before you sign.
