"Had them build a 6-foot cedar privacy fence around our entire backyard — about 180 feet. Posts are rock solid, boards are tight, and the gate latches perfectly. Three Alberta winters later, not a single board has shifted. Incredible work."
— Kevin & Lisa R.

"Needed a chain link fence around our commercial lot — fast. They had a crew out within the week, pulled the permit, and had it done in three days. Professional from start to finish."
— Mark D.
Commercial Chain Link — Nisku
"We chose ornamental iron for the front and cedar for the back. They helped us design both to complement each other. The iron gate with the automatic opener is a thing of beauty. Neighbours keep asking who did it."
— Sandra W.

We visit your property, measure the lines, discuss materials and styles, and give you a written quote. No obligation.
We handle the permit application, call for utility locates, verify property lines, and schedule the build date.
Posts set, panels or boards installed, gates hung and adjusted. Most residential fences are complete in 1–3 days.
We clean up every scrap, walk you through the finished fence, and make sure every gate, post, and board is perfect.
I started Ironside Fencing because I was tired of seeing crooked fence posts and sloppy installs all over Edmonton. A fence should be built right — level posts, tight joints, properly braced gates, and materials that can handle –40°C.
Eighteen years and over 1,500 fences later, that standard hasn't changed. We dig our posts deep. We use concrete, not just tamped dirt. We brace every gate so it doesn't sag by spring. The details matter — and we don't rush them.
Every crew member is trained, insured, and WCB covered. We handle permits, utility locates, and property line verification so you don't have to. When we leave, the only thing left behind is a fence you're proud of.
We build fences across Edmonton and the surrounding region — Sherwood Park, St. Albert, Spruce Grove, Leduc, Beaumont, and acreages throughout Strathcona and Parkland County.
What homeowners ask us most about fencing in Edmonton.
Do I need a permit for a fence in Edmonton?
In most cases, yes — especially for fences over 1.2 metres (about 4 feet). We handle the permit application for you as part of every project. No extra charge, no extra hassle.
How deep do you set your posts?
Minimum 4 feet deep with concrete — that's below Alberta's frost line. This prevents frost heave and keeps your fence straight through freeze-thaw cycles. Some contractors go 2 feet with just dirt — that's why their fences lean after one winter.
How long does a fence installation take?
Most residential fences are done in 1–3 days depending on the length and material. Larger commercial or acreage projects may take longer. We'll give you a clear timeline before we start.
Can I split the cost with my neighbour?
Absolutely — and many do. We can provide separate invoices if needed. We also help with the conversation around property lines and shared responsibilities, which can be tricky.
What's better — wood or vinyl?
Both are great for privacy. Wood is more affordable upfront and can be stained any colour, but needs maintenance every few years. Vinyl costs more initially but requires zero maintenance and lasts longer. We'll help you weigh the pros and cons based on your budget and priorities.
